Ready to grab your gals and hit the road? I’ve got the absolute best girls trips in the USA that you need to hear about! Need some girl time to get yourself back on track? You’re not alone!

If you’re like me and my friends we’re already planning trips for later this Summer. We like places that offer plenty of different cultural experiences, outdoor options, shopping venues, and of course wonderful food and drink. Check out my pics for some of the best girls’ trip destinations in the U.S.A.

Number One Best Girls Trip: New York City, New York

New York is a mecca for fun from sun up til sundown. To this girl, New York City represents the mecca of all the best girls trip necessities.

Start with exploring the grounds of Central Park – by bike, by boat, by foot, or even by horse and buggy! Central Park is just too cool. Strawberry Fields and Bow Bridge are my two must-stops in Central Park.

I also love, love, love to check out St. Patrick’s Cathedral when I’m in the city. Grand Central Station is also a must-see and if you’re there around the holidays, find the holiday markets. There are also fabulous holiday markets in Bryant Park.

NYC has so many fantastic neighborhoods known for incredible food. Yes, we did a NYC food tour and you should, too. It’s the best way to learn about the food, history, and even architecture of the city’s neighborhoods.

And you have to try the best NYC street food – Nathan’s Hot Dogs!

Make sure to go window shopping along 5th Avenue, and go to Chinatown for lunch or dinner. Shanghai Joe’s Shanghai is excellent. Of course, you must stay in Manhattan while in NYC, otherwise, why bother?

Also, the trains are an easy and cheap way to get around the city. We spent a great day with brunch at Tavern On The Green, followed by a carriage ride through Central Park, and then onto the MET. It was a perfect day in NYC.

At night, we headed up to the rooftop bar at the hotel, grabbed a glass of wine, and looked out over the skyline. Talk about atmosphere. If your hotel doesn’t have a rooftop bar, you have to get yourself to one so you can look at the city lights.

There are lots of good rooftop bars in the city, or head over to Top of the Rock for an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline.

Best girls Trip For Tropics: Key West, Florida

For total relaxation during the day and great times at night, you really can’t beat Key West! Key West is the ultimate and best girls trip spot to hit if you want to veg out by the pool all day and hit happy hours at night.

Stay in Old Town so you’re close to the action. Bike rentals are everywhere, and it’s how most people get around. Don’t miss the sunset celebration, the nightly sunset party at Mallory Square.

Also enjoy the water activities like snorkeling, fishing, kayaking around the mangroves and even taking a sunset cruise.

Night time is the right time to check out Duval Street. Hit some of the iconic bars like Sloppy Joes, Captain Tony’s, and Irish Kevin’s. What else would you do in Key West on the best girls trip?!!

You could even go to one of the least visited national parks in the country – Dry Tortuga National Park is located in the Keys and is only accessible by ferry or seaplane. Talk about a thrill!

The options for fun are pretty limitless. One favorite is the famed Duval Crawl – the ultimate pub crawl, Key West style–Go For It! You’re on vacay!

Best Girls Trip For Foodies: New Orleans, Louisiana

If you and your girlfriends like history and happen to love good food, New Orleans is the place for you. The options for fun in New Orleans run the gamut from food tours to Bourbon Street and Frenchmen Street to spooky cemetery walks.

Can we talk about food, please? Oh my goodness, for foodies (like me!) there is no place better than New Orleans.

That’s only one of the reasons New Orleans is one of the best girls trip destinations.

Food tours are my favorite way to experience a city and New Orleans has more than a few to choose from. We did an awesome NOLA food tour and feasted on jambalaya, po’boys, gumbo, red beans and rice, and more.

There’s so, so much to see and do in New Orleans, you will have to come back again and again to do even a quarter of it. It would be best if you stayed in either the Garden District or the French Quarter.

New Orleans Is For Foodies

We loved the Ponchartrain Hotel in the Garden District. Also super cool is the Peacock Room cocktail lounge in the Hotel Fontenot. Make sure you try their incredible bread pudding. It’s the best in the city.

And their drinks are both pretty and delicious.

I recommend a food tour so you can experience all the glorious food NOLA is known for. When you’re in the Quarter, check out the artists in Jackson Square to get a feel for what New Orleans is all about.

Also, visit the historical St. Louis Cathedral, and the Hurricane Katrina museum next door. It’s moving.

For history lovers and everyone interested in learning the meaning of freedom, go to the famous National World War II Museum. It’s one of the best in the country and very well worth your time.

If you like to walk around cemeteries, you’re in luck because New Orleans is famous for their above-ground cemeteries. Choose one of the many cemetery tours for spooky fun.

If you like beautiful homes, sign up for a Garden District walking tour where you can see gorgeous, historic homes in the area.

You have to go to Cafe DuMonde for coffee and beignets and try Acme Oyster House for oysters.

Best Girls Trip That’s Totally Unexpected: Omaha, Nebraska

If you and your girlfriends live in different parts of the country and want to meet up in a central location, look no further than Omaha! While the location might be the first reason you think of Omaha, it won’t be the last once you see all there is to see and do here.

You’ll find great food, lots of bars, and plenty of shopping and culture. I like the different downtown areas. All are entertainment areas in their own right, with food and drink a plenty.

Check out the Old Market, Capital District, NoDo, and Blackstone. The Old Market, with all kinds of shops, restaurants & bars along cobblestone streets, is probably my favorite. It’s just super quaint with lots of eclectic shopping options.

Go to my favorite restaurant, La Buvette for good food amid a French bistro atmosphere. For beautiful, fresh sandwiches and soups to go, stop next door to La Buvette at Mercer’s Grocer. You’ll love it.

And, the Orpheum Theatre and Holland Arts Center are downtown nearby and offer lots of live shows. You can also try the Slowdown for live music.

Make sure to take a walk through the gorgeous Gene Leahy Park downtown. This park in the center of downtown has been completely remodeled and is a gem of the city.

Check out the hammocks and fire pits along the edges of the park. Plus there’s a fun skate park and a cute dog park for the pups. You’ll love it.

Stay downtown or in the Aksarben neighborhood for walkability.  No matter where you stay, you’ll be able to get pretty much anywhere in town within 25 minutes or so.

Pro Tip: Get a steak in Omaha. Try an old-school steakhouse like Gorat’s, Cascio’s, or Johnny’s Cafe.

Best Girls Trip In The Outdoors: Sedona, Arizona

The beauty of Sedona is like nothing I’ve ever seen. The red rock landscape is almost otherworldly. And it’s a hiker’s paradise. Sedona is a great place to unplug and enjoy the outdoors and one of the best girls trip I’ve done in recent memory.

My bucket list hike is Devil’s Bridge and we did it! It was super cool, and not too tough. I thoroughly recommend it!

We liked climbing around Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. We weren’t out to conquer any mountains and didn’t go to the top of Cathedral Rock because it’s almost straight up at points.

But that wasn’t our intent anyway! If you want to take in the scenery and get out there on the trails, it doesn’t matter if you’re not an experienced hiker. As long as you stay on the easier trails you’ll be fine.

If you want to get another vantage point, you can always sign up for a jeep tour of the area. Our Pink Jeep tour was incredible. We had all the off-roading, bumpy, crazy fun we could handle. For a more relaxing way to experience the red rocks of Sedona, you can sign up for an outdoor yoga class.

Make sure you check out the Chapel of the Holy Cross as well. The church is built into the rocks of Sedona and is quite a marvel.

Pro Tip: There is very little parking at the Chapel of the Holy Cross, so go first thing in the morning or right before it closes to avoid super heavy crowds.
